Autumn 1 catch up

Date: 28th Oct 2023 @ 1:50pm

What an incredibly busy half term Year 6 have had!

In science we looked at the circulatory system and the human body, building upon our learning from Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5. We learnt about our pulse rate and how it used to be measured many years ago - we even made our own pulsilogium just like Santorio did and even weighed up the postivies and negatives of how it worked. We made our own 'blood' and looked at the components and through drama, learnt how the blood travels around the body. We had so much fun!

In art, we studied Monet and learnt how to use short brush strokes to create the layered affect that Monet used. We focused particularly on the impressionist movement and how light was an important feature to 'capture the moment'. Take a look at some of our fabulous work below!

In maths, we enjoyed using the multilink cubes to gain a deep understanding of cubed numbers.
