Tournaments

At Abbott we promote healthy competition; with children being encouraged to not only compete against others, but more importantly to compete against themselves.  It is a fantastic tool for developing children's resilience.

Competition against others is important for children: it develops vital skills that they will use whilst in their youth, but also those that they will need as they continue into adulthood. Competition teaches patience and how to be graceful in defeat; how to to work as a team, communicate and solve problems; as well as how to work towards a common goal with team mates.

We remind our children that it isn’t always the biggest, fastest and most gifted children who win, but also those that try hard, practice, persevere and put their mind to the challenge: to be the best they can be.  Aiming high to achieve success!
