Crash landing!

Date: 10th Jan 2024 @ 6:07am

We have had a very exciting week in Year 1! On Monday, the children came into school to find that a spaceship had landed in our classroom; breaking the roof and trashing the place! This sparked lots of discussion about what had happened, who had done it and how it happened. The children used their detective and inference skills to try and figure out what had happened. Some children thought that the wires had broken so which made the spaceship crash, others thought that it must be a yellow alien because there were yellow footprints.

We managed to watch the CCTV footage and saw the spaceship crash into the classroom and break the camera. Luckily, Jackie had to pop back into school on Sunday night and witnessed the event! The children learned how to use a question mark and wrote questions to ask Jackie who is our key witness. Once they had collated the information, they worked in their teams to plan their news report scripts and performed them for the rest of the class.
