Peace Trail around Manchester

Date: 23rd Jan 2024 @ 8:46am

Year 5 had the opportunity to go on an interesting trail around Manchester, learning all about how peace and social justice have changed over time and how Manchester has contributed to this. We explored significant buildings statues and memorials in the city centre including:  Manchester Central Library, the Emmeline Pankhurst statue, the Cenotaph, the Peterloo Memorial, the Peace Garden and St Mary's Church. The pupils really enjoyed the trail and we all learnt lots. It is amazing to see how much history is right there in our own city. We then went into Central Library and spoke about what peace means to us and created our own peace doves. I have attached the peace trail below should you want to do this with your families.
