In Spanish this term, Year 6 have been revising the spellings of nouns that they have prior learnt. They have also been working on their understanding on knowing where the placement of an adjective is in a Spanish sentence in comparison to English. With Odette, our Spanish consultant, the children have been working on their phonetic knowledge of Spanish sounds, this has helped them when looking at the spellings of new words.

In history, the children have been looking at The British Empire: what it was, why it existed and what happened to it. Please have a look at some work below!

In maths, Year 6 used practical resources to gain an understanding of the volume of a 3d shape. They also learnt the formula l x w x h to stop them from counting every cube for whole shapes.

In music, the children looked at the famous piece Bolero by Ravel. They used their listening skills to work out the tempo and study also thought carefully about how the texture of the piece built up and which instruments were used.
