A busy week in Year 1

The weeks are just flying by! This week, we have finished reading Bog Baby, which the children have enjoyed. They have been practising their oral retelling skills, by creating story maps, and identifying the beginning, middle and end of the story.

In maths, we have begun to order numbers on a number line: we even made our own human number line! The children were great at identifying which number goes before and after.

We have finished our art unit with the children creating a final piece of art work. They used their continuous line drawing skills from last week to create an image. They then traced over this with a handwriting pen. After that, they used watercolours to observe what effect they had on the drawing. Some children used more paint and some children used more water.
