🍂 A Lovely Autumn Afternoon in EYFS 🍂
Date: 1st Oct 2026 @ 5:27pm
Today, EYFS came together for some lovely autumn fun! 🍁
The children in Reception became little chefs as they worked together to make a delicious vegetable soup, while our Nursery children got busy baking bread. We talked all about autumn and harvest time, thinking about where our vegetables come from and how farmers grow and harvest food.
The children worked incredibly hard, carefully chopping the vegetables and kneading the bread. It was wonderful to see them developing their independence, confidence and practical skills while working together.
In the afternoon, we all came together to share our autumn delights. We enjoyed tasting our homemade soup and freshly baked bread while listening to one of our new favourite stories, The Gruffalo's Child by Julia Donaldson. 📖🍲🥖
It was such a lovely afternoon filled with learning, laughter, teamwork and, of course, lots of tasting! We are already looking forward to coming together again for another special EYFS event in the winter. ❄️
What a wonderful way to celebrate autumn and harvest time together! 🍂❤️
