Autumn 1, Week 2

Date: 13th Sep 2021 @ 8:03am

This was our first full week of Year 2 and we have had a really great time. The children have been learning how to work together even better and have found out more about what makes people in our class happy. This was part of our new Science Unit 'Healthy Me' and we then went on to think about keeping fit and staying safe near the road. The children chose different materials to design and make a 'helmet' to protect an egg. We will test them next week! Will we have a 'cracking' time or not?

In Literacy, the children made some really interesting predictions and inferences about the character in our new story 'Wild'. They went on to write a character description using what they'd discussed. In Maths, we have been deepening our understanding of tens and ones and on Wednesday's International Literacy Day, we thought about why it's important to be able to read and write and also explored some different alphabets and stories from around the world.
