Autumn 1- Week 6

Date: 12th Oct 2023 @ 5:49pm

I was SO proud of how well the children performed our harvest song, and hope you all enjoyed it too 😊.

We have finished reading The Bog Baby now and the children have absolutely loved it! They were so surprised to find 100s of Bog Babies at the end of the story! They have worked very hard at retelling the story, both orally and written, using their story maps to help.

In maths, we have continued to explore addition and subtraction. The children worked exceptionally well with their partners and showed that they can use manipulatives to help them with their learning.

In the afternoons, the children have been busy learning how to travel in different ways and change direction quickly in PE. Our topic in science is seasonal changes. Firstly, the children decided which items of clothing should be worn in each season and why. Then we explored Autumn. The children learnt that leaves change colour because the chlorophyll breaks down and that's why we see lots of different coloured leaves; they enjoyed going on a leaf hunt around school!

As the weather is getting colder, please make sure your child has jogging bottoms and a jacket for PE.
