Autumn 2 Week 7

Date: 16th Dec 2020 @ 1:48pm

Another busy week for us!

This week, the children watched the BBC Christmas advert and used freeze frames and thought-tapping to think about the character's thoughts and feelings. They then used their knowledge from this term about diaries and wrote diary entries, based on the characters from the advert! The features of diaries were remembered so well.

In maths, we learnt how to multiply simple proper fractions and looked at this practically by folding paper to demonstrate how this works. The children came to the conclusion that all fractions multiplied equal a smaller fraction - such brilliant applied learning! They then also played a Christmas game and multiplied fractions to see who could get the most baubles on the Christmas tree, which had answers to the fractions on them.

We also finished our art this week (sculpting vases) - some amazing designs, which I know the children cannot wait to bring home! The children also reflected carefully on their sculpting skills - it certainly was trickier than we thought!
