Chinese New Year in Nursery!

Date: 26th Jan 2020 @ 7:59am

On Friday we celebrated Chinese New Year in Nursery and were very lucky to have lots of parents come and join us for family friday too. The children learnt all about the celebration, from how families get ready for Chinese New Year to making decorations to watching the parade and sharing gifts with friends and family. We also enjoyed watching a dragon dance which got the children very excited! We tried Chinese food for lunch and discovered lots of the children like noodles. In class we watched the story of the great animal race and then had lots of activities around the year of the rat. I was very impressed with their maths work and the use of chopsticks because they are so tricky to use. We made pattern dragons and moving dragon puppets. Some children even got creative and made rats out of the playdough. Take a look at some of the children in action. Kung Hei Fat Choi everyone! (Happy New Year!)
