End of Autumn 1

Date: 27th Oct 2020 @ 3:53pm

What a busy final couple of weeks we have had!

The children took part in 'World Maths Day' and thoroughly enjoyed using practical tasks to embed their understanding of multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000. They are now super confident in their undertsanding in the movement of numbers (not the decimal!) We also competed lots on times table rockstars (boys vs girls!) it was very a very close final.

We also worked really hard during 'World Mental Health Day' and looked at how we can keep our minds healthy. For example - making sure we eat a healthy and balanced diet most of the time and getting daily exercise that releases lots of endorphins that make us happy and positive!

During 'Black History Month' we looked at the life of abolitionist 'Olaudah Equiano' and wrote a biography all about his life. Before this, we acted out the early part of his life and discussed how he must have felt as a child of 11 being captured and taken into slavery.
