Every fortnight the children who work in the Rainbow Room have a gardening session with Sarah, our visiting gardener. Sarah has taught us lots about how to care for plants. We have planted our own basil seeds and the children took the plants home to look after; Sarah also showed us how to make our own pots using newspaper and a special wooden tool called a 'paper potter'.

This week, we worked on the raised beds by the playground. We continued some digging, watered the beds and tasted some of the salad leaves: the rocket was a bit too peppery for some people! We also tried some of the strawberries that have grown - but we need a bigger crop next year!
