Manipulating Paper and 'Traction Man Meets Turbodog'

Date: 16th Feb 2022 @ 3:16pm

This week, we finished reading 'Traction Man Meets Turbodog' by Mini Grey. The class have really enjoyed the Traction Man stories and have used their imagination to come up with similar ideas. In pairs, they compared Traction Man's two companions using a Venn diagram. They also made story maps which will help them write their own version of a Traction Man story.

In Science, we have been experimenting with paper rockets and testing which changes make the rockets fly higher. We have also been exploring how we can manipulate paper to make it stronger. After seeing a video with some examples, they very quickly made structures that could support a lot of stationery. Check out the photos! They will use what they've learnt to tackle the challenge of making a paper chair that will hold the weight of Baby Bear, from Goldilocks out of newspaper.
