In Geography lessons this term, we have been learning all about 'Megacities'. We looked at the largest cities in the world and used atlases to find where they were located. We were then able to identify which continent these cities were part of and found that most of the megacities were in Asia and North America. We then looked at the largest cities in the UK. Manchester was number 2 and some of us had visited quite a few of the other cities. We then moved onto looking at the fastest growing cities and located these on a map and found lots of them were located in England near to London. We also discussed the reasons why someone might want to move to a city. To conclude our work on megacities we looked at the positives and negatives of living in a city and thought about what we enjoyed about living in a city. The children have worked really hard in Geography this term and some pupils have been able to demonstrate their excellent Geographical knowledge.
