🌼 Reception – Summer 1, Final Week 🌼

This has been a very busy final week of the half term and the children have worked incredibly hard!

This week we finished our learning about minibeasts by exploring the different habitats where they live. The children enjoyed talking about where minibeasts might be found and writing about their habitats using their growing phonics knowledge.

Our 'Come Outside' topic has been a huge hit with the children, and they have absolutely loved all of the hands-on learning opportunities we have had throughout the half term. From planting and growing to exploring minibeasts outdoors, it has been wonderful to see the children so engaged and enthusiastic in their learning.

Next half term, we will be moving on to our exciting new topic: 'Amazing Animals.' We will begin by learning all about animals that live on the farm!

In Maths, we have been learning about odd and even numbers.

The children learnt that:

• Even numbers can be shared fairly into two equal groups
• Odd numbers cannot be shared fairly

We have been practising reciting our odd and even facts and have especially enjoyed exploring odd and even Numberblocks! The children are becoming much more confident at identifying whether numbers are odd or even.

On Wednesday, we had our exciting trip to the The Stoller Hall in Manchester for our Musical Animal Tea Party.

The children were so excited to travel on the coach and thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the singing, dancing and instruments during the performance. The whole class were beautifully behaved throughout the visit and represented the school wonderfully.

We had such a lovely day and made lots of special memories together!

It has been a fantastic half term filled with fun, learning and exploration. We are so proud of everything the children have achieved.
