Reception week 8
Date: 18th Dec 2025 @ 5:07pm
This week was our final week before the Christmas break, and it has been full of festive fun!
We have enjoyed reading lots of Christmas stories and writing our letters to Santa. In maths, we continued our Christmas counting activities. One of our favourite games was rolling the dice and putting that number of buttons on a snowman – it was a fun way to practise counting!
The children got very creative this week. We used Christmas-themed stampers, made festive masks, and decorated Christmas pictures. On Thursday, it was Christmas Jumper Day, and everyone came to school dressed in their festive outfits. It was also Christmas dinner day, and it was lovely to sit together, pull our Christmas crackers, and share our Christmas meal.
On Friday, we finished the week with our Christmas party. We played lots of games and ended with our favourite – pass the parcel! The children also took home their Christmas cards and calendars for you to keep at home.
It has been such a busy and exciting term in Reception. We are incredibly proud of how hard all of the children have worked and how much progress they have made.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday with your families. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the New Year for more fantastic learning! 🎄✨
