Roald Dahl and Queen Elizabeth

Date: 16th Sep 2022 @ 4:27pm

On Roald Dahl day, Year 3 discussed what they already knew about witches from stories. They drew and labelled witches, then walked around the class to find all of the similarities or any ideas that they wanted to use. Then we read the beginning of Roald Dahl's 'The Witches', which told the children some very unexpected information! They wrote some warnings to inform other children what to look out for. Check out a couple below.

With Queen Elizabeth's funeral coming up, the children explored and ordered photos of her throughout her life. They were very surprised to see her as a baby and a young girl. We discussed lots of important events in her life and put some of them into chronological order. Then, they chose a portrait of the Queen that they liked most, and drew their own version.
