Spring 1- Week 1

Happy New Year! The children have come back with such fabulous attitudes to learning, which has been wonderful to see. On Tuesday, we were faced with a problem: a spaceship had crash landed in the classroom! The children used their detective skills to try and infer what had happened and they came up with some fabulous ideas. We used this as a stimulus for our English this week. We have written questions to ask a witness, interviewed a witness and then performed a news report of what had happened. 

In maths, we have begun to explore teen numbers. To help support with this, we have been using the rekenreks, diennes and place value counters. 

In Geography, we have continued to explore the seaside. We have learnt about pollution and how this can affect sea animals: the children were shocked to learn just how much littering can impact the environment!
