Spring 1: Week 3

We have had a very busy week this week! In English, we have found out that it was Beegu, a small, yellow creature with 3 eyes, who crashed into our classroom! We read a little bit of the story and found out that she has crashed onto Earth and is lost. She tries to talk to rabbits and a tree, but unfortunately, they don't respond, which makes Beegu sad. The children wrote wonderful diary entries in the role of Beegu.

This week, we have been lucky to take part in some online learning sessions. Firstly, we had a zoom with author Maisie Chan. We read part of her Tiger Warrier series and learnt about Chinese myths and the Chinese zodiac. The children enjoyed drawing their own mythical beasts! 

Then, on Thursday, the whole school took part in a Spaceship Earth Primary Show where we learnt all about Earth and space. The children enjoyed launching a rocket, and visiting space virtually! 

In science, the children have started to learn about animals and grouped their soft toys accordingly. As a class, we decided on whether they had a beak or not, and how many legs they had. We've also started to explore the different animal groups in more detail, and compare animals based on their features.
