Stories from the past, Shapes and Spanish

The children interviewed my parents over Zoom on Monday, asking them questions about childhood in the 1950s and 1960s. They found out lots of things and we able to create a page similar to the book 'Mirror', comparing childhood then and now. It was really interesting and my parents were very impressed with their thoughtful questions, clear voices and lovely manners.
In Maths this week, the children have been learning about 3D shapes and discussing flat faces, curved surfaces, edges and vertices. As well as counting these things, they have been comparing shapes and on Friday they had chance to build some 3D shapes of their own using art straws and plasticine. They had another Spanish lesson to learn the names of colours and made some colourful flowers to practise writing in Spanish and brighten up our classroom! Why not practise the song we've been using together? Red is rojo...
