Summer 1

Date: 20th Apr 2016 @ 8:09am

Welcome back!

This half term we will be working on our literacy skills through the fantastic stories written by Oliver Jeffers. We have ALL of his books in the Rainbow Room and when we talked before the holidays about an author the children would like to learn about, Oliver Jeffers was top of the list!

We will begin by reading 'How to Catch a Star' and 'The Way Back Home' thinking about exciting adventures in space and using our imaginations to add details to the stories. We will then move on to read 'Lost and Found' which begins: "Once there was a boy and one day he found a penguin at his door..." We will be comparing the book and the film. Watch the trailer in our gallery pages!

In Maths, we will be working on a range of skills building on the number facts we know. We will be using our number bonds and times tables to solve word problems as well as learning facts about time and measures.

Rainbow Room Home Learning will be sent home on Tuesdays to be returned the following Tuesday. The work will be related to the work we have been doing that week during our learning.
