Summer 2 - Week 2

Date: 17th Jun 2021 @ 12:06pm

This week the children have enjoyed taking part in a range of activities for STEM week. At the beginning of the week, they were given a challenge of setting up their own yoghurt cafe.  They spent time researching business names and logos before choosing their cafe name and designing their own logo using 2D shapes. The children then designed their own British flag yoghurt dish, using British yoghurt and fruit, to sell in their cafe.

On Wednesday, the children had a lot of fun exploring their senses. They completed a carousel of activities to identify how they use their senses and why they are important.  The children then used their senses to taste and evaluate their yoghurt dish.

After finding out about plastic pollution and the damage it is doing to our Earth, the children decided to design and make environmentally friendly packaging for their cafe. Their final task of the week was to make a persuasive poster to advertise their cafe and product.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed using their science, maths and DT skills this week to complete their STEM challenge and I have been very impressed with how hard they have worked.
