Summer 2 - week 2

Date: 17th Jun 2022 @ 2:43pm

We have had a very active week with lots happening. We have continued working on the Nowhere Emporium and have been imagining the kind of person Daniel might be and what he looks like. The class has rounded up the week with a character description, using lots of emotive language and expanded noun phrases.

We have completed our unit on decimals and place value and the children have done really well. For those children who need a bit of extra practice we have been dividing and multiplying numbers up to three decimal places by 10, 100 and 1000.

We have also finished our RE topic which the children have really engaged with. As part of our unit, we visited a church on Wednesday and had the opportunity to see some of the precious religious artefacts. We discussed the role of places of worship within the community and the support that religion plays in peoples’ lives. The children had mature conversations around this topic and brought well thought- out opinions to the table, it was a pleasure to watch them contribute to classroom discussions in a considerate and sensitive manner.

Next week Ms Stokes and Ms Pugh will be in class covering new units in maths and computing.
