Week 4
Date: 25th Sep 2026 @ 7:58am
Year 6 have had a wonderful week!
On sunny Tuesday, the children continued practising their football skills; this time they moved from learning how to pass/improve their passing skills to intercepting. Some children did find this quite challenging but they worked really hard in their teams to get it right. The children also finished their geography topic on climate change this week. They learnt why climate change is happening and what needs to be done in order to stop it. They learnt about using renewable energy sources and the positive impact this will have on the climate.
In literacy, the children have been learning about Sinbad the sailor and today are writing a story retell of his first voyage. They have learnt that Sinbad goes on many voyages and keeps getting himself into all sorts of trouble! Many of the children think that maybe he should now give the voyages a rest!
In maths, the children have spent the majority of the week tackling long division - it hasn't been easy but there have been many lights of success! Well done, Year 6!
