Week 4

Date: 19th Mar 2021 @ 4:40pm

This week we were able to check the results of our Science experiment. We wanted to find out if plants need water and light to grow well. Take a look at the photos and ask your child what we found out. I have moved the pale plants from the dark cupboard now to see if they turn green because of photosynthesis. Unfortunately, our cress caterpillars dried out and we decided that it was because they were too close to the radiators. So we made some more and these have now been sent home. The children should be able to tell you how to look after them and help to make sure they grow!

This week, I awarded our first handwriting certificate. Well done to Yazhini, who takes so much care in every lesson. And congratulations to Alfie, our Star Learner. He was able to explain what makes a test fair and what our experiment proved.

In Maths, the children have now learnt how to subtract using a number line as well as using Dienes and the column method. I have been really impressed with the way that they have used mathematical language in our lessons.

Some children have come to school in wellies recently. Please make sure that they also have black shoes for when we are inside.
